Justin Barrett serves as President of the Tribal Leadership Council, Gaming Commissioner for the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, and President of Barrett Consulting Group, LLC. Elected Treasurer of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma (ESTO) in September 2020, he became the youngest person ever elected to the Tribe’s Business Committee.
Barrett’s career in gaming spans operational, executive, and regulatory roles. Before founding his consulting and advisory practice, he worked across various Tribal gaming and commercial gaming operations. His experience includes successfully opening gaming properties in both Tribal and commercial jurisdictions.
Beyond his professional roles, Barrett is deeply engaged in Tribal economic development and advocacy. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Tribal Finance Consortium and the 7G Foundation, and as a Committee Member for the Oklahoma Native Impact Study Committee. Previously he was the Treasurer of the Indian Gaming Association, Eastern Oklahoma Regional Alternate Delegate to the IGA Board of Directors, Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association Board Member/Delegate, NAFOA Delegate, and Alternate Delegate to both the National Congress of American Indians and the United Indian Nations of Oklahoma.
Barrett’s contributions have earned significant recognition. In 2022, he received the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association’s Chairman’s Award for outstanding achievement in Indian gaming and the Oklahoma NexGen Under 30 Award for Hospitality. He was shortlisted for the SBC Tribal Leader of the Year Award in both 2023 and 2024. In 2024, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development honored him with the Native American 40 Under 40 Award.
