Tribal Chairman Steven Orihuela is currently serving his second term on the Bishop Paiute Tribal Council, and his first term as Chairman. Before being elected as Chairman, Steven served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Bishop Paiute Tribe, having first been elected to the Council in July 2020. A native of Bishop, CA, Steven is happily married to his high school sweetheart, with two beautiful daughters and a son on the way.

Steven earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Fort Lewis College and is now pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Arizona, with an expected completion in Fall 2024. He brings extensive executive-level experience in tribal governance, having previously served as Chief Operations Officer and in environmental management roles, providing him with a deep understanding of the challenges facing Indian Country.
