Steven Orihuela, MBA
Bishop Paiute Tribe
Council Member Steven Orihuela is currently serving his second term on the Bishop Paiute Tribal Council. He served as Chairman from 2022-2024. Before being elected as Chairman, Steven served as Secretary-Treasurer, having first been elected to the Council in July 2020. A native of Bishop, CA, Steven is happily married to his high school sweetheart, with two beautiful daughters and a son.
Steven earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Fort Lewis College and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Arizona. Steven has attended two Harvard Business School Executive Education Programs where he received certifications for the “Tribal Leaders Program” and the “Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities”.
He brings extensive executive-level experience in tribal governance, having previously served as Chief Operations Officer and in environmental management roles, providing him with a deep understanding of the challenges facing Indian Country. He also serves as the Chairman of the Owens Valley Indian Water Commission.
Steven received the Native American 40 Under 40 Award from The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development in 2026.
