LAWTON, Okla. – In a continued effort to support digital inclusion and educational opportunities, Tribal Leadership Council (TLC) is excited to announce a donation of laptops for the 2025 Tribal Leadership Conference taking place in Las Vegas, June 23-26 at the Palms Casino Resort. This generous contribution, made possible by AT&T and device refurbisher Human I-T, is aimed at bridging the digital divide and providing essential tools for education, communication, and leadership development within Tribal communities.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with AT&T and Human-I-T to provide these essential tools to students and communities in need,” said President Justin Barrett. “Access to technology is critical in today’s world, and with this generous donation, we are helping to bridge the digital divide and ensure that leaders and students have the opportunity to succeed in an increasingly digital landscape. We are incredibly grateful for AT&T’s and Human-I-T’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders in Indian Country.”
“AT&T is proud to collaborate with the Tribal Leadership Council to help close the digital divide within our California Tribal communities,” said Julio Figueroa, Tribal Liaison and Director of External Affairs, AT&T. “Access to connectivity is vital in helping to bridge the digital divide and we are glad we can provide these resources to those that need them most.”
The donated laptops will be distributed to Tribal leaders, with an allocation to UNLV’s San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Tribal Education Initiative and Indian Nations Gaming and Governance Programs. This initiative is part of TLC’s ongoing commitment to promoting digital literacy, fostering educational equity, and supporting Tribal communities.
This contribution is also part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
