LAWTON, Okla. – The Tribal Leadership Council (TLC) and KOSO Strategies (KOSO) issued 30 certificates of completion for the first Tribal Administration Certification program held June 23, 2025, at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.
This certification training was designed to demonstrate functional knowledge of Tribal governance and working effectively in Indian Country. Many attendees expressed they wished they had this training when they were first elected to Tribal Council.
“TLC is excited to have partnered with KOSO Strategies to offer this certification during our 2nd Annual Tribal Leadership Conference. This certification was the highest-rated session of the entire conference among our attendees. This demonstrates a growing need for this type training to help prepare new leaders for governance roles. We look forward to continuing our work with KOSO to deliver this training opportunity,” said TLC President Justin Barrett.
KOSO’s mission is to provide unique, personalized, and culturally relevant training and strategies for Tribal governments, Tribal health centers, and Tribal enterprises. This aligns with the mission of TLC to provide educational opportunities to Tribal nations that supports leadership development.
“We are truly humbled to be allowed to share our collective experience working with Tribal Nations and to help shape the future of Tribal Nations through this certification,” said KOSO Founding Director Ernest Vargas Jr.
